NMILC serves individuals with incomes at or below 200% of the annual federal poverty guidelines who are residents of New Mexico.  We serve individuals whose cases involve the following issues:

  • Family based immigration matters (except fiancé petitions)
  • Asylum
  • Domestic violence, trafficking, or crime victim issues
  • Citizenship issues (applying for, or proving citizenship)
  • Refugee issues, including  permanent residency, family reunification, and travel documents
  • Removal defense
  • Temporary Protected Status (TPS)
  • Work permits

We DO NOT handle nonimmigrant visas (to visit, study, work etc.) or employment based immigration, but can offer referrals to private immigration attorneys.

Please be aware that NMILC is a nonprofit organization and does not receive government funding to help our clients.  Even if you meet our eligibility criteria, we cannot always serve everyone who needs help because of limited resources.  We appreciate your understanding.
