Lizdebeth Carrasco

Equal Justice Works Fellow

Lizdebeth Carrasco-Gallardo is originally from Chihuahua, Mexico and has lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico since her family migrated to the U.S. when she was five years old. Lizdebeth graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor's in Political Science and Spanish. She then went on to attend and graduate from the University of New Mexico School of Law. Before law school, Lizdebeth worked with NMILC as a Department of Justice Accredited Representative representing clients before DHS in VAWA, U visa, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, DACA and naturalization cases. Lizdebeth is excited to be back at NMILC working as an Equal Justice Works Fellow. The scope of her work now includes U Visa and VAWA cases, and she will engage in some asylum, trafficking and economic justice work in the near future.
