Alondra Granados-Diaz is joining the NMILC as a temporary staff attorney on the UAC and SIJS team, where she will represent unaccompanied minors eligible for SIJS.
Born in Juarez, Mexico, Alondra immigrated to the United States at a young age and grew up undocumented until age 16. Knowing early on that she wanted to pursue a career in immigration law, she recently graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2024. Her academic achievements include the Clinical Honors Award, the Clinical Legal Education Association Outstanding Student Award, and the National Association of Women Lawyers Award. During law school, she clerked for several immigration firms and served as an advanced clinical law student in the Child and Family Justice Clinic, where she navigated complex legal issues to support families in need.
Before law school, Alondra worked as a paralegal and community activist, dedicating herself to advocating for immigrant rights. Her experience spans various immigration matters, from family-based and humanitarian petitions to representing clients in removal proceedings. A proud Mexican immigrant, Alondra is eager to serve her community as a legal advocate through NMILC.
