Valeria De Lira Richards
Intake Specialist
Valeria De Lira Richards (she/her/hers) joined NMILC in 2024 as an intake specialist. Valeria was born in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico and her family immigrated to the U.S. when she was three years old. She was raised in Santa Fe, NM and now resides in Albuquerque with her wife. Valeria graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and minors in criminology and music. As an immigrant herself, she is passionate about serving the immigrant and Spanish-speaking community of New Mexico and hopes to expand her skills at NMILC and learn how to best serve this community. In her free time, Valeria likes to go thrifting, she plays African marimba with a group based in Santa Fe, and loves spending time with her her cats Lucy, Ozzy, and Sharon.
