Claudia Alvarez

Human Resources/Operations Manager

My name is Claudia Alvarez, and I was born in Saltillo, Coahuila. My family and I immigrated to the United States when I was 7 years old in search of a better future, which has always pushed me to work extra hard to achieve my dreams.

I attended Fresno State and graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, the first in my family to do so. I was introduced to NMILC when I needed legal assistance. After seeing the amazing work they do and their level of dedication, I started volunteering as a translator in 2022. I have now been working as an Intake Specialist for the past year and couldn’t be happier.

As a former DREAMER fellow, I am honored to work at NMILC. I continuously get to witness firsthand the impact this organization has within our community, and it continues to be very rewarding. I have worn many hats in my career, but this is by far the most important and meaningful to me. My aim is to educate as many people as possible about their rights and legal options.
