Cointa Gonzalez was born in Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua, Mexico. Cointa immigrated to the U.S. with her sister to reunite with their mother when she was five. As a child, Cointa saw a lot of injustice fall on her family simply because of their immigrant status and because of their lack of understanding of the English language and the law. That made her realize she wanted to help other immigrants. Cointa believes everyone deserves to live without fear and to know what their rights are, regardless of immigration status. She believes everyone is worthy of opportunity and freedom.
