Shalini Thomas is a supervising DOJ Accredited Representative (full) with New Mexico Immigrant Law Center. She has been with NMILC since May 2019. She previously worked for Diocesan Migrant and Refugee Services (DMRS) in El Paso, TX from 2010 to 2017, where she was also fully Accredited. In addition to her work with DMRS in El Paso, she also volunteered with Annunciation House, where she helped start and run additional pop-up shelters for refugee families as a result of the influx that started in 2014. She also worked for Annunciation House during the summer of 2018 as their Logistics Coordinator, coordinating all aspects of transportation, including the purchase of flight tickets through generous donors, for the hundreds of reunified (formerly separated) families that were released to Annunciation House.
She currently supervises Team Wednesday Workshop, which focuses on green card renewals, applications for citizenship, and applications for DACA. She also works closely with the pro se asylum team and the intake/reception team.
