Thalia Fort
SIJS & UAC Paralegal
Thalia Fort is currently serving as a Public Ally Intern with the Immigrant Children’s Program. In May 2022, she graduated summa cum laude from Hendrix College with distinction in both of her majors, Politics and Spanish. As the granddaughter of refugees, she understands the harms created by an immigration system designed to criminalize and dehumanize that which is a human right, and is driven to create a world in which immigrants, and their experiences, are valued and dignified. After having completed a thesis on sanctuary policy in the United States, she is particularly interested in understanding what factors provoke local communities to challenge federal immigration policy and how to best enact meaningful reform at the local level. While she was born in Shiprock, New Mexico, she has lived in Albuquerque since 2007, where she currently lives with her mom, her two dogs, Korra and Niza, and her two cats, Kyoshi and Herbie.
