Nora, born and raised in Chihuahua, Mexico joined NMILC as an EJW Paralegal Fellow in September 2019. Studied at the Instituto Tecnologico Superior de Nuevo Casas Grandes, with a B. A. of Business Administration in Huma Resources. Nora decided to move to Albuquerque after she finished her studies due to the violence caused by organized crime in their country. Prior to joining NMILC, she worked as a Community Organizer with El Centro de Igualdad y Derechos, and Operations and Logistics Lead with United We Dream, she also volunteered with Enlace Comunitario as Promotora of Domestic Violence Prevention. She is passionate about working and serving our immigrant community, while working with El Centro de Igualdad y Derechos, Nora ran several community-based campaigns to stop deportations in Albuquerque, with successful results, these experiences led her to her current position.
She currently coordinates pro se services with the Remote Workshop team, with provides services for green card renewal, citizenship applications, and DACA renewals and first-time applications. She is currently focusing on becoming certified as a DOJ Accredited Representative.
