Aurora Arreola joined the NMILC through a UNM political science internship/volunteer program in the fall of 2021. Aurora is now an AmeriCorps Public Alley and works as a Policy & Economic Development Legal Services
Assistant. She holds a B.A in Criminology with a major in Political Science as well as a B.A in Political Science with a major in Spanish with an honor of Cum Laude. Aurora was also named in the Dean’s list in Spring 2020 & Spring
2021. She is fluent in Spanish, was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and is a first-generation immigrant. She is captivated by the different policies that assist and are barriers for the Hispanic/Latino community and is thrilled to
learn how to help from an economic development standpoint. Aurora is planning to further her education by attending Law School in the fall of 2024.
